Grinding Gears Burning Diesel – Truck Convoy

Lifeline North Coast hosted our Grinding Gears Burning Diesel Lifeline Convoy on Saturday 12th November 2022. It was a huge success, not just for the number of trucks, the community support, the incredible volunteers and the funds raised.

100 trucks drove in convoy from Woolgoolga Industrial Estate south to the Coffs CEX Stadium and parked on display for the public and to connect with mates in the industry, remembering those lost to suicide in our trucking community.

It was the important conversations that took place, the men that opened up about their mental health, and the on-site health checks and support given, changing and saving lives that make the greatest impact. It was a community coming together to raise awareness of mental health and suicide, to ensure people know it’s ok to talk to someone before it gets too much, and to show camaraderie with the families that spoke with vulnerability about the grief they’ve gone through after losing a loved one.

This was the second year the event was hosted, and we are planning an even bigger event for 2023 so watch this space!
