OUT OF THE SHADOWS

A walk to remember those lost to suicide

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID 19 Lock downs, Lifeline North Coast hosted its annual Out of the Shadows Walk -a walk to remember those lost to suicide

The community walk was held at Jetty Beach, Coffs Harbour , coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day, on Saturday 10 September 2022.

The Out of the Shadows Walk united people from different backgrounds and communities who have been impacted by the death of a loved one through suicide.

The weather was beautiful and with close to 200 people meeting at sunrise to participate.

The team of Lifeline NC Wish to thank the community who walked to raise awareness, remembering those we have lost to suicide, those who have attempted suicide, and those who are living with the grief of losing someone.

The walk started from the jetty foreshores, up onto the Coffs Jetty and along the beach and then circling back to the start for a community sponsored bbq cooked by volunteers, with music provided by Uko Ono.
