WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY - 10TH SEPTEMBER 2023

On Sunday, September 10th, Lifeline North Coast, in collaboration with our generous partners, hosted our annual "Out of the Shadows” event. This gathering included a community walk and various activities to observe World Suicide Prevention Day. Our aim was to remember those we've lost to suicide, provide support to those struggling with suicidal thoughts, and offer comfort to those mourning their loved ones.

Despite the chilly and blustery weather, we were heartened to see more than 200 people come together and connect with their local community.

We'd like to express our gratitude to the following organisations that joined us on this meaningful day: BCU Bank, OneMob Radio, Galambila Aboriginal Health Service, New Horizons, Wesley Lifeforce AfterCare, Interrelate, Aunty Jenny (Elder), Mayor Paul Amos, Mid North Coast Local Health District, Coffs Coast Suicide Prevention Initiative, Naru Gathering, Lifeline Crisis Support Volunteers, and Mathew Devitts.

A special and heartfelt thank you is reserved for our dedicated team and volunteers. Your selfless contributions of time and effort not only made this event a success but also reflect your unwavering commitment to ensuring that no one in our community faces their darkest moments alone.
