Kick it for Lifeline: Club Information
24 clubs. One week. One powerful conversation.
Lifeline North Coast is proud to partner with North Coast Football on Kick it for Lifeline, a community mental health campaign bringing together 24 football clubs across the NSW North Coast from 3–9 August.
This campaign uses the power of local football to raise awareness for mental health, connection, self-care and suicide prevention. Football clubs are at the heart of our communities. They bring people together, build belonging, and create spaces where players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters look out for one another.
How your club can get involved
Each participating club is invited to create a short video featuring players, coaches or club representatives speaking about mental health, connection, self-care and the importance of checking in.
Your video can be simple and authentic. It might include players answering a few short questions, sharing what connection means to them, how they look after their mental health, or why reaching out for support matters.
Clubs are encouraged to share their video across social media during the campaign week, 3–9 August, to help raise awareness and encourage conversations across the wider community.
Download the club toolkit
To make it easy to participate, we have created a downloadable Kick it for Lifeline Club Toolkit.
The toolkit includes suggested messaging, social media captions, video prompts, content ideas and practical guidance to help your club create and share campaign content.
We’re asking clubs to:
- Download and use the Kick it for Lifeline Club Toolkit
- Create a short player-led video
- Share your video on club social media channels between 3–9 August
- Encourage players, members, families and supporters to engage with and share campaign content
- Support open, safe and positive conversations about mental health within your club
- This campaign is not about asking clubs to have all the answers. It is about showing that mental health is something we can talk about, support is available, and connection can make a real difference.
Every video shared helps extend the message. Every conversation matters. Every check-in has the potential to make a difference.
If you or someone you know needs support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, available 24/7. If life is in immediate danger, call 000.
Kick it for Lifeline: Community Information
Local football. Local conversations. Life-saving connection.
Kick it for Lifeline is a community mental health campaign delivered by Lifeline North Coast in partnership with North Coast Football and 24 football clubs across the NSW North Coast.
Running from 3–9 August, the campaign brings local clubs, players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters together to raise awareness for mental health, connection, self-care and suicide prevention.
Why it matters
Mental health affects all of us. Whether someone is experiencing stress, grief, loneliness, anxiety, depression or thoughts of suicide, connection can be life-changing.
Kick it for Lifeline is about reminding our community that no one has to face tough times alone.
Across the week, participating clubs will share short videos featuring local players, coaches or club representatives talking about mental health, connection, self-care and the importance of checking in on one another.
These stories will help bring mental health conversations into everyday places — on the field, in the changerooms, on the sidelines, at home, online and across the wider North Coast community.
Key message
Connection saves lives.
A simple conversation, a check-in or a moment of support can make a powerful difference to someone who may be struggling.
Mental health is everyone’s business. Whether you are a player, coach, volunteer, parent, supporter, club member, workplace or local business, we all have a role to play in creating safer, more connected communities.
How you can support the campaign
During 3–9 August, support Kick it for Lifeline by watching, sharing and engaging with campaign videos from participating clubs, or maybe even making your own.
You can also help by checking in with someone, starting a conversation, encouraging others to reach out for support, and reminding people that they are not alone.
Every share helps extend the message. Every conversation helps reduce stigma. Every connection matters.
Together with North Coast Football and clubs across the NSW North Coast, we can kick-start conversations that support mental health and help save lives.
If you or someone you know needs support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, available 24/7. If life is in immediate danger, call 000.
